Amberley rushes into the bedroom to wake up her husband and share with him the great news.

Initially, Arthur isn't quite sure what to make of the news.

But, sensing his wife's excitement, he soon warms up to the idea.

Personally, however, I feel the family finances could be better than they are.

I mean, I guess these two do own their own home, which is more than I can say for most millennials about to become parents. But it could be better, so they get to reading, writing, painting, publishing, and working on promotions.

With only the occasional minor setback.

Oof, first time that's happened for me. Poor guy just got home from work but had no time to run inside for safety.

Oh well, he didn't die so it's nothing a bath and a nap won't fix. Just...get inside quick!

Amberley is completely unfazed by her husband's near-death experience.

I have seasons set to the longest setting (28 days) but I may change that.

Summer has been incredibly stormy and miserable.

Spoke too soon? Beautiful sunny day the next day.

I guess one thing about starting these two off married to each other was there wasn't really a need to get them out and meeting people when they first arrived. They're even more isolated than my sims usually are.

The one on the left is called Alex. She actually ends up developing enough of a friendship with Arthur that she sort of becomes friends with him. No idea who the other one is.

Soon enough, though, there will be three.

In all they have a pretty chill life. Paint. Dance.

Arthur's getting those dad dance moves in early I see.

Publish novels. Those royalties are nice. Arthur keeps getting just enough points to become a level 1 celeb, but can't seem to maintain it.

Okay, so let's skip some more pictures of Amberley either painting or standing in front of the house after getting promotions (Creative + Perfectionist + Ambitious. The woman is a machine for promotions and I haven't even been abusing club perks/aspiration rewards yet in this game).

Soon enough, the first pregnancy has flown by, and Amberley finds herself in labour.

Can't be bothered with the hospital. Just go sleep it off hun.

"Nooboo? Nooboo!"

Amberley does her best to ignore him.

For whatever reason, she goes down to the lounge room to give birth. Probably on her way to the kitchen for more pancakes?

And here we are! Presenting, the first baby in the house, Benjamin Achievement.

We move the bassinet upstairs to the bedroom (finally upgraded the bed!) and promptly forget about Benjamin until he becomes a toddler.

Right back to work again.

"Come on, take a break. Live a little!" Alex urges. "Dance with me!"

Startled by the existence of, well, anyone who isn't his wife, Arthur complies.

I like Alex. She can stay.

So these photos were all taken when I last played over a week ago and when I came back to sort/upload today, initially I couldn't remember why I took these photos.

Finally figured out it was because it was talk like a pirate day.

"Y'arr! Avast ye hearty! Hoist the mainsail! Um, swab the poop deck! Arr!"

(Pretty sure the first Sims 2 legacy I ever read was a pirate one but I can't even remember the name of the person who wrote it any more. It started with Jack Sparrow as the founder?)

Anyways, talk like a pirate day was successful.
